SHOULD OLD OFFENSES BE FORGOT?

SHOULD OLD OFFENSES BE FORGOT?
(Parody of Auld Lang Syne)
Lyrics by Don Caron / Music - Scottish Folk Song
Should old offenses be forgot?
And never brought to mind?
For those who hope to not get caught,
to forget’s a thing sublime!
They may have groped and grabbed a bit!
They like to fault the lass!
Please notice that the president
could not pass up a pass.
It’s in their nature don’t ye know,
in their genetic code;
No wonder why the handsome prince
is depicted as a toad.
But leaders have a higher call
including self-restraint
It’s not like we lookin' to
canonize them as a saint.
Just treat us all with decency
and remember to be sure,
she never once invited you
to play with her coiffure.
So raise your glass to dinosaurs
who n’er learned to behave
Their brains are always on all fours
and will be so to the grave.
Their days are past their time is done
we watch them as they go
in shame departing one by one
yet the worst refuse to go.
How can we teach our daughters and sons
to act with grace and love,
with poor example from the top
we cannot soon get rid of?

Should offenses be forgot
and never brought to mind?
should that be so, the lesson taught,
bodes ill for womankind.
Should that be so, the lesson taught,

bodes ill for all mankind.

Education is the key to civility

Republicans have been in a “war” against public education for many decades; invariably against funding to support America’s most vital institution(s).  Techniques are to oppose state and Federal  initiatives to decrease taxes spent to support public schooling in states under their control; encourage charter schools owned by wealthy, private Republican donors; supporting anti-education individuals to “run” the State and Federal systems (DeVoss?); allow absurd tuition increases; closing schools in desperately needed areas; cutting educators’ salaries; lacking raises, pensions,  maintenance, supply, extracurricular activities, new books and supportive materials; and, much more. They profess their “support” of education; even falsely claiming to be the “party of education.” This includes K-12, H.S. and College/University levels.  Schoolbooks, such as those produced primarily by the Texas Republican State Board of Education, deny mention of significant historic...
I still have some people - not many - who support trump, as it turns out. Even those of my persuasion. They think trump is good for the U.S. because he supports Israel. I agree, that's great. And, despite what trump created with Obama's being a Muslim, born in Kenya, even Obama was supportive of Israel. Netanyahu was rude to Obama, even during the campaign which people forget about, and still, Obama was kind a respectful.  AGAIN, I say, trump's decision to back out of the Iranian deal would allow Iran to return to their Nuclear dreams, which is NOT good for Israel or the U.S. They would firstTHREATEN Israel often and Blackmail the U.S. That is common sense when you take time to think about it.

Trump is now somehow a religious idol

Some religious fanatics have officially gone bonkers. The far right have been pushing a meme for several years now that the amoral creature, conman, egomaniac, and bad person in the WH “has been sent by God to be ‘a vessel for the purposes of the faithful’ in the role of King of the United States of America,” according to Katherine Stewart.  A firefighter picks up a Bible in a moment of revelation and automatically turns to Isaiah 45. Agent Orange is also number 45. Coincidence? I think so. This disclosure is because Cyrus in Isaiah 45, is “saved” and becomes Emperor of Babylon, freeing the Jews. These Christian Nationalists, no relation to the saner version of ages past, believe the adulterer, misogynist, oaf in the White House, who is encouraging them, will save humanity.  Tony Perkins, Ralph Drollinger and V.P Mike Pence support it, as well. Deport them.
