Are we Broke or Broken? NEITHER...

We hear the country is hurting financially. Our country, THE GREATEST ON EARTH, MUST CUT Social Support for the poor, children, homeless, Single-parents, the sick and feeble, the elderly, the mentally disturbed, the “Dreamers,” infrastructure, air, food safety, agriculture, Climate Change, pollution, and much more. Yet, we give massive tax cuts to those who can EASILY AFFORD TO DO WITHOUT THOSE CUTS, and raise the taxes on those who CANNOT.

When Ronald Reagan cut taxes and we had difficulty, he was forced to raise taxes 11 times (although Republicans will say, falsely, "that never happened."), in various areas to cover the discrepancies that arose. When George W. Bush cut taxes, HE BORROWED MONEY TO COVER THE WAR AND MORE, putting us in further debt to countries like China.


The best plan would have a compromise capped between the 78% of JFK’s and the 39.5% of Reagan (perhaps 60%) , done in a gradual revenue decrease over a number of years. To get us used to it, as if cooking a lobster, slow cooking, gradually increase the heat. Now, our finances are controlled by those who can easily afford to buy a loaf of bread.

Hypocrites or not? You decide..
